Diabetes Clinical Studies Groups - RECRUITING MEMBERS NOW

The Diabetes UK Research team are looking for enthusiastic healthcare professionals, researchers and patients with diabetes who want to influence future research in diabetes to join our new diabetes Clinical Studies Groups. These groups will unite these three key groups of individuals to create a roadmap for new research by identifying priority areas and the clinical studies needed to move care forward.

We are currently seeking researchers (including statisticians, methodologists and epidemiologists) and healthcare professionals for the following CSGs

  • Causes of diabetes (Chair: Professor Rebecca Reynolds, University of Edinburgh)
  • Prevention, targets & therapies for Type 1 diabetes (Chair: Professor Colin Dayan, Cardiff University)
  • Prevention, targets & therapies for Type 2 diabetes (Chair: Dr Rob Andrews, University of Exeter)
  • Acute care (Chair: Dr Gerry Rayman, Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust)
  • Long-term self-management & glycaemic control (Chair: Dr Mark Evans, University of Cambridge)
  • Microvascular & macrovascular complications (Chair: Professor John Petrie, University of Glasgow)
  • NIHR CRN: Children/BSPED Diabetes and Endocrinology (Chair: Professor Timothy Barrett, University of Birmingham)
