Graduations and Award Winners for MSc Diabetes Practice

13 Jan 2021

The MSc Diabetes Practice programme at Swansea University Medical School has been specifically designed for Health Care Professionals (HCPs), particularly current or future Diabetes Specialist Nurses (DSNs), who wish to specialise in the field of diabetes. It provides advanced knowledge, clinical skills and experience, and aims to combat the decreasing numbers of DSNs highlighted by the Diabetes UK DSN Workforce Survey 2016.

The course has now seen its first students graduate over the Christmas period. Two of the graduates have won awards for their work, with Lucy Barlow (Swansea Bay University Health Board) winning the Outstanding Excellence Award for highest overall MSc mark and Carolyn Thelwell (Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board) winning the Banting Award for highest dissertation mark.
